I am AKM sofyol anam from UN DSS, Yemen. I have been abducted along with 4 other colleagues of mine while on an official mission in Yemen on 11 February 2022. And we are still held captive with al-Qaida of Arabian Peninsula (AQAP).

Unfortunately, we being the citizens of Asian countries, we are treated with negligence. But if we were citizens of any European or American countries, the demands made by AQAP would have been immediately meet, and we would have been released.

This is against the UN's one principle of neutrality and equality. I want to mention here that while we have abducted, we are abducted as UN Stuff. And not as citizen of any specific countries or Asian countries.

In my previous appeal as I was told, I mention that there are some interruptions in the negotiation process by the US, KSA & UAE. Which still continues as I was told.

I appeal to UN secretary general, and our colleagues at work for quick response on the demands made by AQAP before we face serious and terrible consequences.

I urge my family & families of my colleagues, so that they can pressurize the media, to those who are interrupting our quick release process. And communicate with UN management to () the process of our negotiation for our release.

I want to mention here that, I myself and two other colleagues of mine are seriously ill. They require immediate hospitalization and admission to the intensive care unit. Otherwise, any of us may succumb to illness any time from now.

I want to mention here an accident. Today is 3rd June 2023. An accident occurred in India where 3 trains crushed yesterday.
